"Hay una sola
aspirina del alma
y es el amor"
Mario Benedetti

E tanti ricordi fanno capolino. Come quell’abbraccio. Grazie, ancora una volta. Infinitamente grazie. Relativismo esistenziale. Empatia. Quanta vita negli occhi. Brinderó stasera, alle strade che si incrociano. E a quelle che portano lontano...

The Gaia hypothesis states that the atmosphere, hydrosphere, surface sediments, and life on Earth behave dynamically as a single integrated physiological system. What has been traditionally viewed as the passive environment is a highly active, integral part of the gaian system. Aspects of the surface temperature and chemistry are regulated by the sum of life, the biota. Formulated first by James E. Lovelock, in the late 1960s, the Gaia hypothesis has been in the scientific literature for more than 25 years. Because of its properties of exponential growth and propagation, life is a powerful geologic force. A useful aspect of the Gaia idea is that it requires integration of scientific disciplines for the study of Earth. The recently touted Earth system science is broadly parallel with the gaian concept of the physiochemical regulation of Earth's surface. We discuss here, in a gaian context, the colonization of Mars by Earth organisms. Although colonizing Mars may be impossible, its accomplishment would be exactly equivalent to "the reproduction of Gaia by budding."

It's a sight to behold
When you've got some old words to mold
And you can make 'em your own
Still love it would be much better
Love it would be much better
I'm told
It's like golden corn
And I love its golden glow
It's the little head inside your little hole
And out spring some sparkling thoughts
Still love it would be much better
Love it would be much better
Love it would be much better
Love it would be much better
It's like finding hope
In an old folk song
That you've never ever heard
Still you know every word
And for sure you can sing along
But love it would be much better
Love it would be much better
Love it would be much better
Love it would be much better
I know, I know
Devendra Banhart - Rejoicing in the Hands

Do you ever look aroundturn your ear to the groundshow your face to the skyon a night when the skies echoe soundsfrom inside of your mindon the stage that you shonewhere the sun did become youand move with your thoughtsthrough the sighs and the scenesof the worlds you have seenand the sights that have beenyour reflection in shadows and dreams?- your reflection in shadows and dreams Did you ever see a manwho did walk down the streetwhite robe with no shoes on his feetand on top of his head place a box with two slitsand the sign from his neck said‘I do not exist’or a woman who could not remember her namedid stutter and stutteragain and againand saw you and called you her sonher eyes said‘my being is gonebut still I’m not dead’? Have you ever seen a soundhave you listened to an imagehave you ever touched a thoughthave you ever tasted nothinghave you ever told a liethat was true more than truthbecause truth it had liedall its life when it spoke to you?And what did it sayit is that it is thisthis goes here here is thereit is not yes it isit was dulling your sensesyour eyes they were boundhave you ever my friendsbeen looking around? And the other replieswith a wave of a handI am already herein this promised landbut not by a god and not by a kingand not by a spiritdeep from withinI am herebecause a miracle’s a whimit’s a flash of gloryit’s an empty tinand maybe might lets you innot to save youbut to keep on looking- Have you everbeen so happy that you’re sad?that the lights turn to starsand the stars become eyesand hello’s are goodbye’sand the laughs are the sigh’sand the show disappears with the note‘until next time’ Long live livingif living can be thisLong live livingif living can be thisLong live livingif living can be thisLong live livingif living can be this Do you ever look aroundturn your ear to the groundshow your face to the skyon a night when the skies echoe soundsfrom inside of your mindon the stage that you shonewhere the sun did become youand move with your thoughtsthrough the sighs and the scenesof the worlds you have seenand the sights that have beenyour reflection in shadows and dreamsDo you ever look aroundand find what is yet to be found?
